Ginyu Yellow Deck Guide

Learn how to play Yellow Ginyu in Fusion World with our in-depth guide.

Hey everyone! Ginyu is a powerful aggressive deck that swarms the board with 20,000-Power Battle cards and sets up multiple attacks to pressure opponents into using their Combo plays. The Ginyu deck is a solid choice to counter popular decks like Green Gohan, although its success depends on the meta state.

Awanked Ginyu will switch 1 Energy card to active mode and will gain the ability to switch all "Ginyu Force" Battle cards to active. With a wide board of "Ginyu Force" Battle cards, you can take advantage of Leader Ginyu's ability to set up one aggressive turn that could potentially end the game on the spot.

Yellow Ginyu is a swarm-aggressive deck that can rain multiple attacks of 20,000 Power Battle cards. The deck doesn't have reliable removal tools to deal with opponent's threats, it mainly focuses on slamming down their Leader, forcing Combo plays, and closing out the game as fast as possible.

Opponents will likely favor targeting your Battle cards over your Leader to ensure they keep your board in check. The majority of Leaders in the game have 15,000 Power pre-awakened, this means they'll rely more on Battle cards or removal tools to deal with your threats or even use up Combo plays to boost their Leader.

Since your opponent is busy dealing with your board threat, you'll need to damage your own Leader with your own cards to get to Awaken FB01-104-ginyu and start adding more pressure on the opponent.

In most cases, you'll prioritize protecting "Ginyu Force" Battle cards as they'll serve as a game finisher once Leader FB01-104-ginyu gets to activate his ability and set up a second attack on the same turn.

The Early Starters

The early get-goers assist you in building up the board and setting up for plays that require you to have a certain number of "Frieza Army" or "Ginyu Force Battle cards on the board.

Swarm Enablers

The Ginyu list consists of 1 to 3-cost Battle cards, so it's an easy task to swarm the board with multiple Battle cards. However, Ginyu and Recoome give us an extra push in our swarm plan.

Ginyu can drop on the board when there are two other "Frieza Army" Battle cards already played, giving you an additional 2 Energy. This comes with the restriction of not allowing you to play another "Ginyu Force" Battle card. Although you can't play another Ginyu, you're still able to drop a 2c Frieza or play your Extra cards. Ginyu ensures you can play Extra cards or have the Energy to activate your Leader's ability.

Recoome is arguably the best card in the deck, allowing you to drop a 2-cost Ginyu Battle card on the board for 0 Energy. With the number of Ginyu Battle cards the list runs, you won't have any difficulty finding those 2-cost Battle cards ready in your hand to join the battle. Recoome can also take a Life card from your Leader, setting you up for Awakening him.

Self Awakener

Another low-cost 20,000 Power Battle card from the "Frieze Army" that can also damage your own Leader and switch an opponent's 3 cost or less Battle card to Rest mode. The ability to rest Battle cards comes in clutch if you want to switch a blocker to Rest mode. This paves the way for your attackers to strike down the Leader or to shut down a Combo play.

Self Awakening is especially useful if you need the +5000 Power boost to pressure the opponent and set up your second attack with your Ginyu force.

2c FB01-108-ginyu has a perfect draw ability to get more "Ginyu Force" Battle cards and build up the board.

3c FB01-110-ginyu can give you back an Extra you've already played. You're able to set up more aggressive attacks by picking up a FB01-138-now-you-see-the-power-of-the-ginyu-force or FB01-135-crusher-ball

Ginyu Leader's ability sets you up to finish the game. Ensure you've attacked with all your "Ginyu Forces" and used their abilities before activating the Leader's effect and switching them all to Active mode. This lets you go for another barrage of attacks, this time with the opponent having fewer Combo protection cards.

Keep in mind that you'll have to discard two cards from your hand, so it's a resource burner to go for the winning play.

Crusher Ball is an insanely good offensive card to shut a blocker and get your attackers to strike down the opponent's Leader. It can also rest a Battle card that could be used as a Combo.

Another offensive Extra is FB01-133-bonds-of-the-ginyu-force, the 20,000 Power buff along with +5,000 Power for each "Ginyu Force" Battle card can be the finisher play you'll need to the game.

Golden Frieza can be a great addition as a game finisher. The Double Strike means your opponent will be at the threat of losing the game when they drop down to two health.

General Tips

  • You can combo FB01-135-crusher-ball and FB01-114-guldo to shut down a threat in Active mode for the upcoming turn.
  • Don't let your opponent easily pick off your "Ginyu Force" Battle cards. The wider the board the more pressure you'll create with Leader Ginyu's ability.
  • FB01-107-ginyu and FB01-114-guldo can activate their ability twice if you activate your Leader's ability effect. This gives you more card draw and a method to deal with the opponent's Battle cards that could pose a threat on the upcoming turn.

Mulligan

Look for key cards like FB01-108-ginyu and FB01-132-recoome as they're crucial parts of your swarm game plan. Having a 1-cost Battle card like Jeice or Sorbet is great to get the early game rolling.

  • Outside of 4c FB01-096-vegeta, they don't have the tools to deal with your board swarm early on.
  • Protect "Ginyu Force" Battle cards to set up stronger attack turns
  • FB01-140-son-gohan-childhood can wipe out your board, so getting the most out of your attacks before they're at 7 Energy is important. Similarly, FB01-078-android-17android-18 can deal with two of your Battle cards.
  • A swarm attack combined with Leader Ginyu's ability can be enough to close out the game.
  • You can shut down FS03-10-broly-br or FB01-078-android-17android-18 from attacking the upcoming turn with Guldo.

  • Once Broly Awakens, you'll be forced to use Combo cards to get your attacks through.

  • You can build a more swarmy board than them, which will force them to deal with your attackers.
  • FS04-05-zarbon can be an annoying blocker to slow you down. 2c FS04-12-frieza can switch Zarbon to Rest mode. You could use a Crusher Ball in later stages of the game as an answer.
  • FB01-113-cooler can be a nightmare, KOing a Battle card with its ability once to goes for the attack. Leader Frieza ability can switch it back to Active mode so it serves as a blocker for their defensive turn.
  • 5c FS04-03-golden-frieza is the biggest threat to watch out for. Keep him in Rest mode with Guldo to buy you more time.

Red Beerus

  • FB01-002-beerus' 20,000 Power on attack turns can KO your 20,000 Battle cards.
  • They're able to keep your board in check with cards like FB01-004-whis + FB01-026-fuwa.
  • FB01-025-frost is a complete shut-down for your attackers. You'll need to switch Frost to Rest mode and try to KO him. Consider adding Golden Death Beath to the list if you're going up against a lot of Red decks with Frost in the list.
  • FB01-002-beerus' Power reduction ability along with FS01-09-son-gohan-adolescence can shift the board's presence in their favor.
  • You have to try and close out the game as fast as possible. They'll end up outvaluing you in the late game.

Goku U7

  • This is a tough matchup since like Beerus, they can keep up with your board aggression.
  • Some lists might include FB01-025-frost, which shuts down your attackers.
  • FB01-015-son-goku-912 is a card you'll never want to see being played. It can KO one of your Battle cards with its ability and threaten to KO another by attacking it.
  • They have a better late-game with cards like FS01-09-son-gohan-adolescence, FB01-139-son-goku, and FS01-08-son-goku.

Closing Words

The Ginyu deck can be tricky to get the hang of early on since it adopts a more aggressive approach. The deck can catch opponents off guard with its swarm capabilities, closing out games before your opponent can even set up their game plan.

Yellow Ginyu is amazing if you're aiming for fast-paced games and a quick ladder climb. However, it's extremely dependent on how the meta state is, so if you're going up against a lot of Red decks, it's better to play something else.
